What’s on in Cork in March

Looking for exciting events to attend in Cork this March? Look no further! From film festivals to whiskey tastings, Cork has something for everyone this month. Here are five events you won’t want to miss:

1. French Film Festival on March 1st – March 10th, 2024

Immerse yourself in the world of French cinema at the 25th Cork French Film Festival, presented to us again by the Alliance Française de Cork. The opening night was on Saturday March 3rd, where they kicked things off with a screening of Jeanne du Barry. This years festival will be Featuring a diverse selection of films, from classic masterpieces to contemporary gems, this festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of French cinema. 2. Bingo Loco and Swiftogeddon on March 9th at Cyprus Avenue

There’s plenty happening on March 9th, but two big events we think you should go to are back to back in Cyprus Avenue and they are Bingo loco and Swiftogeddon. Bingo Loco has taken Ireland by storm and is described on their website as a “3-hour long interactive stage show complete with dance-offs, rave rounds, lip sync battles, throwback anthems, confetti showers, and prizes ranging from international holidays, cars, air fryers, lawnmowers and so much more”. Our students have been plenty of times and they absolutely love it, you can buy tickets on their website by clicking here.  Another really popular event that often takes place in Cyprus Avenue is Swiftogeddon which is a night of Taylor Swift classics, deep cuts, extended mixes and fan favourites, if you’re a Swiftie this one is for you, you can book tickets by clicking here.

3. St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th in Cork City Centre

Paddy’s day weekend is a big deal all over Ireland, and Cork is no exception. We will have a whole weekend of live gigs, and you can see a list of artists playing plus where and when on the Whazon Magazine by clicking here. 4. Cork Whiskey Fest on March 20th – March 24th

Calling all whiskey enthusiasts! The second annual Whiskey Fest will take place in the historic VQ (conveniently right around the corner from the school) this year from March 20th-24th. You can Sample over 55 brands of whiskey from leading distilleries, attend masterclasses led by expert connoisseurs, and discover the fascinating history behind Ireland’s beloved drink. 5. Gaza Fundraiser on March 24th in Cyprus Avenue

Support a worthy cause at the Gaza Fundraiser, featuring live performances by Altered Hours, Pretty Happy, Elaine Malone, Fixity, and I Dream at Cyprus Avenue.
