5 International Restaurants To Try In Cork

Cork is full of many amazing restaurants for all tastes, with plenty of international and Irish cuisine. If you’ve moved to Ireland and you find yourself feeling homesick for a meal from your home country however, or if you want to try foods from different cultures, the food capital of Ireland’s got you covered. Here are our top 5 restaurants with cuisines from different countries that will make you feel like you’re on a worldwide food tour 😊

1. Ichigo Ichie- Japan

This one’s for our Japanese students, Takashi Miyazaki was a chef in a 5-star hotel in Japan before moving to Cork to open the beloved Miyazaki’s takeaway on Barrack Street. Once he became known for his amazing Japanese comfort food in Cork city, he opened a Kappou-style fine dining restaurant called Ichigo Ichie also in the city centre where he cooks for his besotted guests one on one serving top class Japanese cuisine with culinary craft and art. 2. Café Mexicana- Mexico

For all our Mexican students looking for a taste of home, you need to try Café Mexicana on Paul St. in the city centre. From sizzling fajitas to mouthwatering enchiladas, Café Mexicana offers a diverse menu that brings the zesty and bold tastes of Mexico right to the table. For international students missing the spicy and Savory notes of home, a visit to Café Mexicana can be a culinary voyage to the streets of Mexico City. 3. Nosta- Turkey

For Turkish students studying in Cork or anyone with a fondness for Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine, Nosta is a Cork gem. The rich history and diverse Flavors of Turkish and Mediterranean food are beautifully showcased at this restaurant. With kebabs, mezze platters, and baklava that melt in your mouth, Nosta is a true delight for international students longing for the comfort of home-cooked Turkish dishes. The staff are super friendly, and they even have the popular Turkish drink Raki which you need to try, they refer to it as the lions’ milk because it looks like milk when you mix it with water.

The warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere only to add to the authenticity of the experience. 4. Iberian Way- Spain

Our Spanish receptionist swears by the Iberian way and says it’s some of the most authentic food she’s had in Cork since arriving here. From tapas to paella, the menu captures the soul of Spain’s culinary traditions. The restaurant’s cosy setting and Spanish-inspired décor create a welcoming ambience for international students missing the flavours and vibrancy of Spanish culture. They don’t have a website and have been closed for renovations until recently but post updates on their Instagram page about availability so you can check them out over there. they’re looking for staff at the moment so if you’re a Spanish speaker loking for work you should apply.

5. Rossini’s- Italy

No list of international cuisines would be complete without an Italian mention. Rossini’s, an Italian restaurant in Cork City, is a haven for those who crave the magic of Italy’s culinary delights. With a menu that includes authentic pasta dishes, wood-fired pizzas, and delectable desserts, Rossini’s brings the essence of Italy to the heart of Cork.
