St. Finbarres Cathedral & Elizabeth Fort

St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral is located just outside the city centre, a short walk from CEC.

The current building was constructed in 1862 but St. Finbarr’s has been a place of worship since 606AD when a monastery was founded on this site and is the origin of Cork City.

While in the area we’ll visit the former defensive settlement of Elizabeth Fort which is 17th century star-shaped fort.  Enjoy stunning views of the city while walking the walls of Elizabeth Fort.
