Partido de hurling: St Finbarrs vs Blackrock

Join us for an evening of hurling this Friday in Pairc Ui Rinn Stadium, Cork. 

St. Finbarr’s will be playing Blackrock in the Cork County Championship, with some of the best hurlers in Cork playing!

Blackrock (nicknamed The Rockies, founded in 1883) and St Finbarr’s are two of Cork hurling’s most decorated clubs. Together with Glen Rovers, they’re considered the “big three” of Cork club hurling, having amassed a combined 84 senior championships. So it promises to be a great game.

What Is Hurling?

Hurling is an electrifying Irish field sport—one of the fastest in the world. Players wield a wooden stick called a hurley to strike a small ball, the sliotar, attempting to score either over the crossbar for a point or into the net for a goal. It blends elements of hockey, lacrosse, and baseball but plays out at breakneck speed with grit, finesse, and Irish passion.
