We have many different opportunities available within CEC. We are an ever-growing and changing company and are always on the lookout for new staff that align with our ethos of quality service, and who want to help us create unforgettable experiences for our students.
TEACHERS
We recruit for teachers all year round, primarily for adult students. While in the busy summer months we require seasonal teachers in our Junior Centres for teenage students.
We are always looking for enthusiastic and motivated English teachers for our city centre school. The classes have a maximum of 15 students and an average of 8, and our focus is on providing personal, quality tuition for each student.
We follow a well-established CEC-specific curriculum, and all course materials are provided. We also have a dedicated academic team for constant support guidance and feedback. We welcome both newly qualified and experienced language teachers that want to work in a dynamic, professional, and enjoyable environment.
All teachers must have:
- A primary degree (NFQ Level 7)
- A recognised TEFL qualification such as Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL, ACELS CELT or equivalent (online qualifications are not recognised)
CEC is a member of MEI and Quality English, as well as being accredited by ACELS and EAQUALS.
HOST FAMILIES
We are always looking to collaborate with host families all year round, particularly for our junior students in the summer months. We will often aim to work with host families living in the same area to ensure our students have a sense of community and are able to make friends easily.
You can host up to three students at a time depending on the space you have available. Being a family run school for over 40 years, we maintain close ties with our host families and many of our families have worked with us for over 20 years.
We offer competitive weekly rates and have an experienced in-house accommodation team who provide support & guidance, as well as providing you with a 24/7 emergency phoneline.
Some examples of your role as a host:
- Pick up and drop off from Cork airport, the bus station or our junior centres on arrival and departure
- Half board meals Monday to Friday (Adults)
- Full board meals Monday to Friday (Adults)
- Full board meals at weekends (Adults & Juniors)
- Make the student feel part of the family and enrich their Irish experience

ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
We are often looking for new administrative staff to join the back-office team here in CEC. We have a number of different departments, and we are a dynamic team that collaborates on all fronts to ensure our students have the best quality experience possible. Our back-office consists of the following departments:
